'The Battle for Jerusalem'
In June 1967 Israel occupied the eastern part of Jerusalem, which hitherto had been under Jordanian rule. Since then Israel has spared no effort to integrate the occupied part of Jerusalem into Israel proper and has declared it part of a unified Jerusalem. The Palestinian inhabitants of Jerusalem find themselves under tremendous pressure.

'Fault Lines'

Istanbul has grown in sixty years from 1.5 million inhabitants  up to a staggering 15 million inhabitants. The spectacular growth of the city mirrors the economic and social transformation that Turkey has witnessed over the last decades. The city is also the battleground between conflicting narratives over Turkish identity.

 

'Relative Calm'

 Lebanon finds itself struggling with the toxic legacy of its own bloody past. And like a thunderstorm that is approaching a bloody civil war is raging at Lebanon's borders in neighbouring Syria and threatening to reopen Lebanon's old wounds.  The bloody pasts and presents of Syria and Lebanon have become dangerously intertwined.........

'Get Out!'

In 2011 Tunisia saw its first free elections in 25 years. These elections brought the Islamist Al-Nahdaa party to power. Two years later, after political assassinations of two prominent left-wing politicians and amidst widespread allegations of corruption the government of Al Nahdaa is under immense popular pressure to resign. We follow a tumultuous week in Tunisian politics in late 2013.
